"When I grow up I want to be a teacher"
This was my (and few of my colleagues) plan for life, when I was 10. Time passed and I came back to the point when I'm not necessarily the teacher but I teach people. Adults, to be more precise.
Having more than 11 years of different work experience (public sector, own small business and large companies) out of which 10 years in finance, I started to learn in the meantime more about project management and work management techniques. Moving from finance sector to software development I discovered Kanban method (kudos to my friend who was a guide, when I started my Kanban journey). I realized that this method applies perfectly to all aspects of your work - not only to product development. What is more, some techniques that I used in finance management, found perfect application in my new role too.
But what about "bis"?
I searched for more information about Kanban adoption in finance organizations and, except for some tips&tricks and copy-pasting Kanban principles, I was not able to find any useful and practical information. Hence I decided to follow "Evolve Experimentally" principle and do it from scratch. And share this journey with other people who might have fell in love with Kanban as I did, but they don't know how to start as they work in "non-IT" roles.
So why "bis"? Cause it's not for product developers or IT support - you already know that staff (but please feel free to stay and read). Cause it's "bis" version - another Kanban adoption. Cause it's for business, for finance world which raised and taught me.
You know someone who did it already?
Please share your feedback with me. Send me a note, leave a comment, I'm happy to read or watch and learn more.
